etsy find: friendship necklaces

i haven't done an etsy find in a while, but i woke up this morning to a great surprise! kate, of for me, for you, has updated her etsy shop with her friendship necklaces! what's unfortunate for me is that they are all sold out. however, she reassures us that if she still has materials left over you can remake one of the sold necklaces.

chanel's paris-moscou prefall is all about the accessories. these videos are are reminder of the previous statement. chanel has been haunting me today.

quickie

taking a quick break from packing and sweating. thanks for your patience, things will go back to normal by next week!

in the meantime, here's a proust questionnaire that judd apatow filled out for vanity fair (my favorite is the last one).

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Watching my wife and children eat.

What is your greatest fear?
That I will suddenly lose my sense of humor, and everyone knows it but me.

Which living person do you most admire?
Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the Dalai Lama, Neil Young. Not in that order.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
“That’s hilarious.”

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
My bottomless pit of need. Soft erections. It was hard to keep it to just two.

What do you dislike most about your appearance?
A back that makes me look hairier than Aristotle Onassis.

Which living person do you most despise?
I don’t despise anyone. Should I?

What or who is the greatest love of your life?
My wife, Leslie Mann. Don’t call her Leslie Apatow or she’ll get upset.

Which talent would you most like to have?
I would like to be a sexual dynamo. I mean, Leslie would like me to be a sexual dynamo.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would live in the moment. Even now, I am half watching Saturday Night Livewhile doing this.

If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be?
I couldn’t get the job done in one. I need at least 11.

If you were to die and come back as a person or thing, what do you think it would be?
A beloved dog.

What is your most treasured possession?
The book Cruel Shoes, autographed by Steve Martin when I was 13.

What is your favorite occupation?
Reading self-help books and forgetting what I’ve learned.

What is your most marked characteristic?
A giant chicken-pox mark between my eyes. Is that what you meant by “marked”?

What do you most value in your friends?
What friends?

Who are your favorite writers?
F. Scott Fitzgerald, Philip Roth, Andrew Dubus, James Brooks, Garry Shandling, Warren Zevon.

Who are your heroes in real life?
Martin Luther King Jr., Bill Gates.

What is it that you most dislike?
Ancient religious laws.

How would you like to die?
A moment after someone tells me I am going somewhere great.

What is your motto?
“Less jizz, more heart.”

a wang

henry holland doing interviews for vogue. this edition has him interviewing alexander wang.

i actually saw alexander at the pool of the hotel i was staying at in vegas a couple weekends ago. i never got up the courage to go and talk to him while he was frolicking with friends in the pool. he seems so sweet in this video; now i am kicking myself for not at least saying hi.

portland part iii

like promised, here is the third installment of my portland trip. there are two more special posts to come, so be on the lookout.

scrolling doughnuts at voodoo doughnuts; chocolate shot from cacao a wonderfully delicious chocolate store

the thb (turkey, havarti, bacon) waffle from flavour spot. portland has the most magical food carts in the whole world; another bridge shot, i think i fell in love with these (we don't have bridges in san diego)

drinks at sapphire hotel, which used to be a brothel; stand up comedy

late night poutine at the poutine cart. why doesn't southern california have more food carts like these?

i hope you enjoyed viewing my trip as much as i did.
