this article with kim noorda in vogue has made its rounds, but i still had to share. reading it made me really sad. the confusion over what was right (body-wise) and what was wrong, the worrying about what others might think all the time, worrying if she can even have a job all due to her weight. it's hard to imagine a world where someone that looks like her can be apologetically considered "big". kudos to kim for being brave enough to publish parts of her intimate diary to shed light on an issue that definitely needs addressing.

do you see what i see?

optometry at its finest. the red lips, the dark eyeliner, all the rings, bracelets, and necklaces, make this one fine trip to the eye doctor.

a wang

henry holland doing interviews for vogue. this edition has him interviewing alexander wang.

i actually saw alexander at the pool of the hotel i was staying at in vegas a couple weekends ago. i never got up the courage to go and talk to him while he was frolicking with friends in the pool. he seems so sweet in this video; now i am kicking myself for not at least saying hi.

wild at heart

speaking of the met ball, since the theme is model as muse, i couldn't help but think back to the supers of the 90's. and what better way to commemorate them than this iconic shoot from vogue's september '91 editorial, wild at heart, shot by peter lindbergh. these girls in biker chic ensembles make me swoon.

Wherever I May Roam

I found this Vogue UK editorial on Summer Teeth's blog and had to share, since I love Daria Werbowy and Lily Donaldson.

Random story of the day - I saw Lily D at a flea market in LA one time. At first I wasn't sure, but the minute I heard her speak in that beautiful British accent of hers, I knew. I won't lie, I did stalk her for a little bit. She was very tall and gorgeous (albeit a bit too thin) in person.

The September Issue

According to the website:
"The September 2007 issue of Vogue magazine weighed nearly five pounds, and was the single largest issue of a magazine ever published. With unprecedented access, The September Issue, directed and produced by R.J. Cutler, tells the story of legendary Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour and her larger-than-life team of editors creating the issue and ruling the world of fashion."

CFDA Designers

Vogue asked the CFDA Designers to envision an inauguration ball for Michelle Obama. These are my two favorites. Above is Vena Cava's creation and below Alexander Wang's. For more, go here.

Alexander Wang's explantion of his creation:
"It's sexy but sophisticated…business in the front, party in the back. It is the inauguration ball!"
