part iii!  this weekend is going to be nuts. i'm kinda sad the hologram tupac surprise has been spoiled, but i'm excited/creeped out by the whole notion. my childhood dreams of seeing tupac in concert will be semi-realized and i'm actually pretty excited to see the whole gang reunited on stage.

despite the fact that i hate the heat, crowds, and loud noises i will be heading into the desert this weekend for the second week of coachella madness. i've been avidly checking the weather and folks, it's going to be 100 degrees this weekend. i hope the 3 different types of sunblock i bought this week in preparation will be enough!

so in honor, i decided to do a post about some of the artists i wanted to see.  but it turned out to be too massive, so i'll do it as a three parter.

hey, boo boo bear

i've been really loving parks and recreation lately. its even surpassed my beloved 30 rock (gasp!). i recently caught up on all the episodes and there was a scene on the latest episode where i literally laughed out loud.  aziz's nicknames for ann were amazing, but the best part was when he said, "i feel like you're embarrassed of me" in that baby voice. i literally died. watch below and be prepared to have yourself a giggle.

claire boucher's new video for her song, oblivion. so timely, since i just saw her in concert last weekend!  this has been a really tough and stressful week work-wise and this video put a smile on my face. i also really need that black and gold sequin jacket!

wes anderson x hyundai

i rarely watch commercials on tv, but this sunday as i was watching the oscars i noticed these two hyundai commercials.  the beginning 2/3 of each commercial did not strike me as an automobile commercial and the first one really caught my eye. well, fast forward to today, and i see that both of these were directed by my favorite, wes anderson.  leave it to wes (yes, i'm on a first name basis with him), to make even automobile commercials enjoyable to watch.

*i actually recently bought a hyundai, so i feel like i had something to do with this. probably not, but it's nice thinking that.

my two favorite dresses of the night.  i am no fan of gwyneth paltrow, but that tom ford number is gorgeous. say what you will about the cape, it made that outfit.

and ever a favorite of this blog, michelle williams looks amazing in her louis vuitton peplum dress.

friday!!!!

this has been one long hellish week (even though i had monday off) and i'm so glad its FRIDAY! i will be going to the lovely grimes tonight at the echo! i've been listening to her new album non-stop, so i am very excited.

this trailer for lena dunham's new show, girls, puts a smile on my face. i, as a girl in her 20's, can very much relate to the feeling of the show. and PLUS, its produced by judd apatow.

i'm pretty sure everyone's seen this video, but i still wanted to share it. i wasn't so sold on the song, but this video changed my mind. ms. arulpragasam is back to her old shenanigans and i love it. c'mon how badass is doing your nails on top of your car?

i've been listening (an enjoying) the new die antwoord album and was pleasantly surprised to see this spring '12 preview for alexander wang featuring ninja and yo-landi.

this is a lot more toned down (and not creepy) than their video for their single "i fink u freeky". the vulture really sums up this video a lot better than i can.

watch the ever-adorable paul rudd answer questions for us ladies for rookie mag. you will find out that he thinks that boobs are "awesome" (but who doesn't?) and make a bad pun (speed....racer). he's the best (even as the dumb bobby newport on parks and recreation).

i haven't seen the muppets movie yet, but  i wanna see it now more than ever since i found out that bret (from flight of the conchords) was the music supervisor on it! this video is so cute ("life's a taco! life's a pizza!") and brightened up my day.

dancing to pop culture

been so busy at work and tired at home haven't really had time to catch up on all things internet. but this made my day so i really wanted to share it.  i love how his limbs look like stringy spaghetti while he's dancing. not to mention the little cameo by martin starr (freaks & geeks forever!).

i think i just heard the best news of 2012, there will be new arrested development episodes! i'm so excited i can get up and do the chicken dance (which the reunited cast is doing in the clip above*)! mitch hurwitz, the creator, announced that there will be new episodes of ad as a precursor to the movie. seeing the bluth family reunited feels so right. best. news. ever.

bang bang bangity bang

how i met your mother never fails to put a smile, or more likely a laugh, on my face. i love how quirky and dorky these kids are (especially marshall, who happens to be my dream man)! really reminds me of myself and my group of close friends. i particularly love all the call backs they have to episodes of yore. this little jingle makes me laugh so hard, especially with all the dorky, jazz-hand dancing involved.

random discovery of the day - i pass by this graffiti on a building every day that says "annabelle" and i always wondered that was for. now i know...it is andre's romantic gesture to annabelle.
