loving these old issey miyake images found over at scout holiday. the silhouettes and the color pallete is amazing. and, i'm not gonna lie, the graph paper background is really what does it for me.
ballet for karl lagerfeld
uncle karl designed the costume for 'the dying swan', so he got a private performance at chanel's haute couture salon.

My Apologies...

Sorry for the lack of updates...still recovering from the weekend. :)
Wanted to share this image from Aquasectum's Spring '09 campaign shot by Tim Walker. I love how it reminds me of those old school class photos (minus the kissing, of course). Check out the rest of Tim Walker's fashion photography.

Jason Wu

After much debate, we finally find out who Michelle Obama is wearing to the inaugural ball. Congratulations to Jason Wu!
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not a big fan of this dress.
According to Style File: "The one-of-a-kind silk chiffon dress is embellished all over with Swarovski crystals, floaty bits of organza and silver thread embroidery and was custom made by Wu."

Rodarte Crush

Just read an interview with Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte. My crush on them commences (again) thanks in part to this part of the interview:
I read somewhere that you funded your first collection by selling Kate’s vinyl collection to Amoeba Records. Are there any records you regret giving up?
KM: Oh, man. I can’t even talk about this.
LM: I had to sell the records. Boxes and boxes, I made so many trips out of that Amoeba basement in Hollywood. And the guy there seriously could not believe that the collection belonged to a girl.
KM: Which is really infuriating.
LM: Like in college, the way guys would be weirded out if you had a lot of different kinds of books, as though having varied taste is a gender-specific thing.
KM: I’m getting mad about this all over again.
