summer nails

first off, happy friday (finally)! i love these stella mccartney inspired marble nails discovered on fashion intel. since i'm already pretty terrible at doing normal nails, i'm not sure how this would pan out, since it does look terribly messy. however, the outcome looks so awesome, it might be worth it. are there any of you that have tried this before?

found some tutorials on youtube (i love the internet):

DIY Queen

This Rodarte collection is always on my mind, especially the beautifully draped dresses. And then when i saw this post by Shini of Park & Cube, I nearly died! she made her own diamond-cut leggings! She has a pattern for the diamonds so go and check it out. I might have to do a diy of this soon!

Her Purse

Can anyone ID her purse please? The buttery soft leather and the gold studs! A future DIY project perhaps?

Because Everyone Else Is Doing It...

and since polaroid might be saved, I decided to Poladroid some of my pictures. The "polaroid" above is of a vase from Perch with an air plant my friend gave me. Isn't it so cute? I have the blackest thumb known to man, so I hope this one survives!

I used some of the yarn I had on hand to make these sweet pom poms. It's like I never had diy phobia!

DIY-Phobia Conquered

I definitely do have an obsession for all things W. Anderson. So when I saw this post on a Tenenbaum (my favorite) x stitch, I decided it was time I kicked my phobia of all things diy/craft. My friends and I decided to do a handmade christmas this year, and I gifted the result (above) to my dear friend VA along with a handmade plushy dino named Iggy.

Now that I have defeated my fear I cannot stop! Next up is a crochet blanket!

Cobwebby Goodness

While I'm still up...I wish I was a better knitter/crochet-er so I could make this. Potential diy for someone else?

Insomnia

I've been fighting a bout of insomnia lately. So, clearly the only thing to do is start on a project, right? Decided to try out Camille's diy shredded tee, modeled after Raquell Allegra's shred-tees. Look how amazing Erin Wasson looks in hers!

Here's a peak into how I tried to stave off insomnia. And when Camille said that you would need time, she really meant it.

Wanted: Sweater

I've really been thinking about these sweaters lately from Alexander Wang's Spring 2009 collection. I'm thinking, I can get an oversized sweater at the thrift store and do a diy sort of situation with it. Do-able? Any suggestions/ideas you can throw my way?

DIY: Mobile

Saw these over at Reference Library and immediately saw the DIY potential in them. It's simple enough for a craft doof for me to do. But in the end, if I end in despair, I can always head on over to Stand Up Comedy's site and purchase.

D.I.Y.

Found on Fred Flare, make your own swan ice sculpture. For all those parties that you wanted to make more fancy, especially with the holidays rolling around. Hilarious!
